Hey Guys,

I have a bit of a different question, does anyone know of any freeview boxes which will run natively on a 12 volt power source. I know most of them use down-scale power packs to down-scale from 240vAC to something like 14vDC, is there any that use 12vDC that I can run straight off the battery with the right connection.

Also, anyone know of any good glass mount antennas that is good to use with our UHF freeview?

By the way, it needs to output RCA video and audio as that is what input my headunit etc supports?

I have been looking around the freeview sites and have not been able to find any specs about power etc. Even as close as possible to 12vDC if possible, I can look at upscaling or something if it requires 14 or it may even run on 12 but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Glass mount antennas are typically a poor mans solution for any aerial and typically offer inferior performance to a fully wired aerial.

any type of indoor antenna you can recommend, i live in chch so have fairly good coverage in most places i go...
aerial is probably the most important thing, i was even thinking about a htpc in the boot and a pci tuner card in which case all i would need is a good aerial???

I think you'll get problems trying to record though as you are driving (if thats what you intend?)

Behind buildings, large trees etc will block the signal and give you pixelation & skips and maybe make the playback stop if the TS is that bad.
