I have Magictv 3600TD-NZ. Timeshift Butter settings allow me to set the buffer length (1 to 12 hours) and set it to Auto, On, Off. I want to rewind live tv without having already paused (I assumed I would be able to go back up to 12 hours depending on my set buffer length. I did see a post (Oct 09 - Magictv) which gave instructions to set Timeshift Buffer to either Manual or Default, but I don't have these options.

Does Magictv allow you to rewind live tv beyond what you have previoulsy paused?

I used to have a normal HDD which allowed me to rewind up to 6 hours of tv (including channel changes made).

With the latest firmware the three options for Time shift menu are Auto, On and Off.

Auto means that the unit will start recording when you press the pause button and will discontinue recording once you have caught up to live tv.

On means it will always be recording so you will be able to rewind back to the buffer setting (default is 3 hours) or to when the channel was last changed, as a channel change resets the buffer.

Off means you will not be able to timeshift at all. Pressing pause will simple freeze the current screen and resuming will jump back to live tv.
