Anyone out there in the cloud familiar with these products from TVConverters.co.uk

The following is from their data sheet....

The TVconverters SATVIEW box receives signals from up to 8 satellite transponders and transforms the
same signals into digital terrestrial TV, allowing you to receive satellite programs on the normal digital TVs,
without the need for any additional set top boxes.

Satellite TV Programs are received via any standard Dish Antenna, and the SATVIEW box operates the conversion into DVB‐T standard and distributes the same HD and SD programs via the existing antenna coax
cable to all the rooms, to common TVs.

Would this product work in NZ?

Any opinions/first hand knowledge would be appreciated

No reason why it wouldn't.

Just be aware however that these sorts of things don't come cheaply - based upon some pricing from a friend looking at some DVB-T transmission gear last year I'd take a stab and say you're probably looking at maybe $3k minimum for any of their gear.

Here's their quotation. Obviously there would be freight & GST charges coming into NZ. Not cheap, but good things (if it is) never are.

1) Mainframe + Programmer + Power supply for 8 conversion modules > 990 usd

2) Each sat ( DVB-S/S2 to DVB-T with 1x cam slot to decrypt ALL programs simultaneously and remux to select wanted programs only > 1190 usd each

Broadcasting DVB-T at home/work, is that legal?

It is Not Broadcasting, it is retransmitting the signals around a wired network on frequencies able to be tuned on a DTT set.

It is no different to the set ups that Hotels and Motels have that grab a bunch of channels off Sky etc and then send them to all the TVs in the building.

Can anyone name another product that will do what this does. There's heaps of HDMI to UTP (cat5/6) distribution systems, but personally I do like the coax/uhf setup and the digital transmission (re-transmission).

thats cool, i do want to take the source from my sky box and convert it to a freeview signal my hdhomerun can pickup and the make it available to all network computers in the house.
