Hey Everybody,
We recently moved into a new house, we had a brand new Sky TV dish installed, which we run two sky boxes off. Left over in the house was a Strong SRT 4300 Freeview box that we would like to connect up in the spare room. Have run the cables and checked its all working by connecting up one of the Sky boxes to it, works fine. But when it comes to pluging in the Freeview box i can not get it to pick up any channels? Theres a whole list of satellites that i can search for, but none of them seem to pick up Freeview? Theres one that picks up Sky TV channels but then just says that its scrambled so wont show anything.

Anybody know what im doing wrong here? Is it even possible to run Freeview how i plan to?

should work. select optus d1 satellite and if it is like the strong box I had years ago, in the scan transponders select free to air channels and then it will leave the scrambled ones out

go to www.strong.com.au and search for the model you have and you can download the manual which will help you set it up

Technically speaking the satellites list just has known common settings for that satellite, but you can always add more. I configured an older strong box a while back and the Optus D1 'file' didn't have one of the freeview transponder settings in it. So technically you could add these settings to any satellite name and have it work etc.

Sounds like you have the lnb settings right, so the next step is to make sure it has the freeview transponder details in there correctly. As mentioned above, scan FTA only so you don't get all the Sky channels.

Thanks for you quick replys! Have managed to get chanels.. 0072 Trackside - 0078 SBS 4, but no other channels seem to work? Its shows up some other free chanels as well as Sky ones, but when i go to them it just brings up a black screen or says no signal? Have also downloaded manual but wasnt really that handy.

My satellite settings are..

Satellite: 32. Optus D1
LNB Type: User
LNB Low: 11300
LNB High: 11300
TP: 12456
DiSEqC: DiSEqc1.0
22KHz: Off
LNB Power: On

Seem to be getting closer with this but not quiet there! Appreciate any more info anyone could add!

Hi
If it is a new sky dish then change the lnb setting to 10750 and scan again
transponder 12456 for TV3 and Kordia, 12483 for TVNZ channels

and there is SBS on 12648 V.

But you won't be able to watch SBS while the Sky receivers are active on the same LNB as they lock the polarity to horizontal.
