I just recently got rid of the MySky box and purchased a PlayTV box for DSE to replace it, I tried it out on the aerial that was on top of the house I rent (it looks like the http://www.freeviewshop.co.nz/element-aerial-freeview-p-457.html , but the V-shaped end is oriented vertically), I'm guessing this is and old sky UHF aerial. It give a signal strength of about 55%-60% when I scan channels.
My question is are the old Sky UHF aerials ok for use with FreeviewHD signals (I'm in the very good area of the Freeview signal strength map of Whangarei). The signal has been dropping in and out the last week, but I'm assuming that has more to do with the Freeview outages reported on their website. (I have no TV3, FOUR, TV3 PLUS1 or C4 at the moment)
Or is the PlayTV just not that great? It seemed to work ok for the first week we had it, even better when I turned off the live buffer recording.
Any help or advice gratefully accepted.
Cheers
addon: would the old aerial, on the same roof mount, be causing any interference at all?
