What will be a good alternative to some expensive account softwares?

Requirements are -

Online
PC based
Bank Reconciliation
Customer Invoicing
Smart GST
Job/ Project Tracking
Flexible Recurring Transactions / Invoices
Stock Management & Contract Pricing

Can't tell if serious or not?

Xero.com is the go to for Online Account in NZ thanks to the NZ bank feed integrations and massive library of 3rd party extensions/integrations.

I'm by no means an advanced user but I use www.waveapps.com

I feel like it's just a little clunky in some ways, but does produce nice invoices and certainly does everything I need it do.

The main thing for me is the price is right ($0). I'd certainly give it a look.

Agreed. Costs little and works. Generates invoices, reconciles your bank account and prints out your GST returns - pretty much all I need. Lots of local accountants understand it and you can give them a login if you want them to produced year end accounts and tax returns from it.

You ask for alternatives, what expensive software are you using already? No sane accountant should have you one a super expensive system unless there is a reason for it.

What options are there for personal budgeting and accounting?

Can't sign up for Mint, Personal Capital so looking for recommendations.

We use Infusion (https://www.infusionsoftware.co.nz/)

It can be used online but advantage is you buy and own which I much prefer. If you are service based it is fantastic and has many features that leave Xero in the dust. The Contract Management section is very very good. If you ever used Aurora One way way back this is what it evolved to.

They have recently removed the budgeting features
