Hi All

Looking for a reputable/good hosting company that offers Windows VPS Hosting for an application that is being built.

I saw in an old post of a company that was promoting on GZ ... Racknerd looks good but haven't seen many posts since the Exclusive Geekzone Deal in 2020.

Can anyone recommend a reputable/good Hosting companies that offer Windows VPS hosting servers.

Ask your chosen provider if they can supply the windows license via CSP this will cost you $400 a year for the CSP license for up to 8 cores in the VM

SPLA is now upwards of $80 per month per code
and a few providers have abandoned it.

Can the CSP licenses be used in the same way as SPLA licenses? We're still using a couple thousand dollars via SPLA a month, I briefly looked at Windows licensing via CSP when it was first introduced but then forgot about it.

As far as I can tell (the last advice I got from our disti concurs) the provider needs to be a "CSP-Hoster" to use these licenses on shared hardware which is a whole other set of hoops to jump through

Ouch! We're still paying less than $30/month/core for datacentre licensing

Microsoft licensing hurts my head...

It looks like the other thing to consider is that with BYOL, you need to bring CALs if they are required, whereas with SPLA, you do not need CALs/SALs.

Of course, if this app is just IIS, then there's a whole other level of figuring out anonymous vs. authenticated users to add to the mix.

It also looks like CSP Server licenses are a one-year term, so another point to consider vs. month-to-month with SPLA.

Correct CSP is 1 year pay up front for 8 cores

There's a reason they offer a training course / certification just in licensing :-P
