Hi everybody, was wanting to know if it is possible to connect a samsung tablet or an ipad to the internet with a cable rather than wifi? Reason being, my brother wants one but his wife is against having wifi in the house due to "radiation".. Any help appreciated thanks

Im guessing a 3G tab is out of the question then, you know due to "radiation".

Do they not have cordless phones or mobiles or have neighbours with wifi? Or anything else that's got a radio in it?

But a little more on topic you can get micro us to Ethernet adapters

should probably ask her whether she is happy having a microwave, as they produce a lot more radiation.
so do lightbulbs for that matter.

What you are looking for is called reverse tether (with usb support). There are many apps available for this, and my guess is all will require rooting.

You could also consider Bluetooth. Shorter range, lower power, lower power consumption.

Just get her one of these and get over it, in your typical city environment the level of radiation from various broadcast facilities makes the level of RF from your WiFi AP seem trivial.

Run a cable from the Tablet to something like the phone that does nothing, then use wifi for the connection and tell her it is via cable.

I configured my Sony Ericsson X10i to use reverse USB tethering one time.

It sort of works, but some applications are adversely impacted by this structure and fail.

Another option is buy a tablet with built in ethernet. No shortage of those.
