I'm having a terrible time deciding what phone to upgrade to because I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S for a year and a half now and it's showing it's age.

I just really want a speedy phone with a good camera which can take photos instantly and take HD videos plus has a good screen (4'5+) and be on jelly bean :) but I've heard the one x has a wifi bug so I am unsure :/

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

If you want to take HD videos and want to store them on the phone you may need more memory than is standard, the S3 you can add memory via sd card, the OneX you only have what the phone comes with.

I would go with an S3, I had a One X which ran great but pretty average battery life on it, So my choice would a Dual Carrier S3 (GT-I9305)

+1 for the S3. Much better phone, removable battery and microSD slots are great plus it has a more powerful chipset, made by the more reliable brand, better camera, more options for customisation as there is a bigger community out there behind it.

The One X may be slightly cheaper (depends where you go) but IMO it is an inferior device. The S3 will last you longer.

it would mainly be a replacement camera, I only take the odd video but it's more taking photos and holding music. I have a 32 GB card in my Galaxy S and there is 13GB free that is never used, just the S3 seems a little fragile

It may look fragile but it is pretty tough. We get very few back that are physically broken and if they are they have had quite an impact. A lot of people thought the original S felt quite fragile too, but the plastics (while maybe not feeling 'premium') are really strong.

well I haven't managed to even chip my galaxy s even though it feels like thin glass, just the high price of the S3 puts me off when the one x is cheaper but would I notice much difference if I went from my current device to a one x?

I can assure you the S3 are pretty tough. I have dropped mine a few times (without a case) and it still works perfectly.

Well it may look fragile its far it's far from it!

I'd just love to have a One X that I can try so I can see how it works as it is also personal preference. battery life doesn't worry me as I am used to charging my phone every single day.

My galaxy S is slow at the current time anyway. all I need is a camera which takes pictures fast with a low light and in the sunlight too so just a all around good camera :)

What kind of "Nokia touch phone"? Not Windows Phone? Probably an old Symbian or Meego handset?

Anyway, make sure you check the TelecomTech. Currently running Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Galaxy Note II user reviews (yes, other Geekzone users like yourself), but check the categories and you will see older reviews including the HTC One X there...

You will notice the jump from S to OneX. It is a smaller jump up to the S3, but IMO worth the extra ($80?) that it would be to upgrade (depending where you are shopping.)

seems like you have already decided and just need people to reinforce your thinking which is cool.

Go with the one you want as it is you that will use it but think its a good idea to either try one or at the least do some comparison between the two.

Its probably cheaper for a reason but the ability to use external storage and change battery are locked in cement for me but you obviously not.

Former owner of both, S3 easily (DC version as mentioned).

Same reasons as above - micro SD, removable battery and notably better battery life (even for daily charging users like myself), better SoC and GPU, better GPS (has GLONASS, International One X doesn't), better camera (not by enough to make this a diffentiating factor in deciding between the two really), better audio quality, better bootloader policy, accessories more plentiful in variety and availability.
