Hi so just today my girlfriend tried to get into my N8010 and got the pin wrong to many time. Easy fix normally yes but there is a downside, my wifi is turned off so can't just simply log into my gmail. My question out there is can i get back in with out hard reseting. On the plus note I do have usb debugging turned on and it is rooted with CWM, also it is running cfw (omega v2.1).

If there is anyway I can get back into it would be a big help to know.

Cheers

Just tried to do this but adb was unable to find the device after multiple tries. A few people have said this happened when running cfw.

Was having a look though if I do a backup with cwm and hard reset then do an advance restore is there anyway I could just restore the data with out restoring the actual system settings including of course the password?

Is there anything you can do in Samsung Dive? Maybe not but might be worth a shot....

Actually scratch that. It will need wifi on...

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I mean use your phone AS the wifi hotspot so the Note would be connecting to the internet over your phones 3G connection.

That still needs the notes wifi turned on to connect to the hotspot though.

Ah, with you now sorry.

A Nandroid backup\restore will restore the current security state, so that won't help you.

adb not being able to see the device will almost certainly be a driver issue. Install the current Samsung Kies application and then try plugging it in and using adb again, you might want to do a reboot in between.

Otherwise, a device wipe is about your only option.

Not being able to connect to adb might be caused by a security restriction put in place with Android 4.2.2. You have to confirm whether the computer is allowed to connect.

It might be worth checking whether you can get adb to work in recovery mode. It might have fewer restrictions than when the device is running, and hopefully still access to the tools needed.

A safer option than playing with the lock screen settings would be to just turn on Wi-Fi. I found this article, which describes how to do it: http://develnetwork.blogspot.co.nz/2012/05/turn-on-wifi-from-adb.html
