Hi There

I bought a new unlocked S4 from Vodafone and have switched to Telecom now.
Everything is working fine however it won't connect to 4G LTE.
Under "Network mode" there are only three options and none with LTE.
I have taken this into both Telecom and Vodafone shops, and they didn't know what the problem was.
I've got a 4G Telecom sim, that works on 4G in a friends phone, so it's definitely to do with the S4 device.

Details about my phone are:
GT-I9505
Android 4.3
Baseband version: I9505XXUEMK9
Build Number: JSS15J.I9505XXUEMK9

Is there an easy way to fix this problem?

Thanks

Ways I would not advise as they could brick the handset,

Wait for a future Vodafone approved update for the device.

I don't suppose anyone knows when Vodafone will release an update that supports 4G LTE?

Cheers

The phone likely does support Vodafone 4g LTE but does not support Telecom's, I would not hold my breath waiting for Vodafone releasing an update to provide better support for the Telecom network.

Not sure why Vodafone would release a update to support Telecom 4G,

do you want to void your warranty or not?

if you don't mind then there is a (99% reliable but not 100%) way.

if you want to know someone can direct you to a thread which directs you to another thread ... -->

up to you

you can go back to Voda but people should have a choice and Android gives you that choice and you can flash a stock telecom Rom as I said.

It is probably the same problem as people that bought the 2Degrees Galaxy Note 3 and it not working on Telecom 4G.

From what we were told Telecom requested that 4G be disabled in the CSC during testing and until an updated CSC is released.

The best option we were told was to take it back and swap it or wait for an update, Vodafone have already released an update for the Note 3 so they will probably do it for the S4 but when it suits them 4.4.2 maybe.

Other option is to read XDA Developers forums and see about flashing a ROM that has the updated CSC but you take the risk of tripping KNOX, this will not stop the phone working but is best you read up on it to make sure your happy with that before doing it.

Not sure why Vodafone would release a update to support Telecom 4G,

It's not a case of Vodafone specifically releasing an update for Telecom, but more a case of any future updates that Samsung send out to carriers for approval would now have 4G enable for Telecom by default. Anyway, that's just my theory on how it works.

This is the best advice for you. If you take Vodafone sim with 4G enabled, you should be able to access their 4G network. Have a look at Galaxy Note 3 thread. This has something to do with Samsung disabling 4G for Telecom because their 4G network hasn't launched yet at that time. Future update should get this enabled.

If you must get 4G now, return the phone and get one from Télécom or have look at Xda forum and flash with different firmware. You may lose warranty...

I have Galaxy Note 3 from 2Degrees. 4G will work with Vodafone SIM but not with Telecom. I can't be bothered with 4G at the moment since it is not yet available in Tauranga (telecom network). Vodafone on the other hand has 4G but crappy coverage. I'll stick with Telecom for now.
