Hey guys,
I am trying to get rid of the Emergency Calls Only message on my Motorola phone. I've tried rebooting it, and removed the battery to clean the contacts on the SIM card, but nothing seems to have worked so far. Can someone please help me?

MrsDarthKermit: There is no SIM in the handset, and I don't have another card to check it with.

jeffnz: ok try this?
go to menu -settings -about phone -status
- What does it say under "service state?" It should say "in service."
If this not in service, it means your phone is not registered on a network. now you can try to rectify this from your device by updating your profile.
-Go o menu -setttings
-about phone -system updates
-update profile
I copied this from another site but seems to be a problem on some phones.

freitasm: What about my questions? Is this a new phone? Have you tried entering its IMEI here for checking?
