Hi there.
last week I brought a Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 off of trademe.
the auction stated in good condition but will, need to supply charger. Paid the next morning, received following day. The seller said she would charge it up at a friends to,full which was done. The tablet is in excellent condition physically.

so I brought a data cable, this is the older tablet that has the bigger plug, from a tech store, it cane in a Samsung box and says Samsung on it so I'm hoping it is as genuine as it looks,

any how the tablet has completely drained it self of battery so I plug in the charger and it flashes a grey battery symbol on then loads to the next screen and it starts to charge then it goes black and repeats the cycle over and over, so I decided to Google the symptoms and see what I could find, this being a very common problem I read up over it for an evening and how to fix this problem was removing the back and disconnecting /reconnecting the battery which I gave now done, easy fix so I thought! I then read that another option was to change your wall charger and make sure ur was 2.1a and up. So i go out and buy a new charger port, another $29.00 spent. ..
I have now pluged it in again and now the grey battery flashes on and off every 2-3 seconds.
what's going on??
so I ring Samsung help line who are no help at all and are completely useless because my device is old.

this whole time I have been,in touch with the seller in trade me who assures me that they had no problem, and offering advice, going by there feedback and helpful emails I do believe they are genuine.
any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. WI do have another option to but another charger off of trade me that the seller has linked me too, but at this point in time I'm wondering weather I'm throwing my money into a pit of nothing.

I have an original Note 10.1 - and its hungry. And fussy

Standard USB ports and chargers/ciggy units don't cut it. They come with a high output charger, and need it. (cant recall, if it was 2.0 or 2.1 - but they can differ)

It may be that unless it was a specific targeted Samsung one that it still doesn't cut the mustard. Some will also only charge when the device is powered off. Its not uncommon if you search about.

Check for someone with an Ipad/Iphone uSB charger and check the output on them. I recall having success with one.

Thanks for your reply, I brought a 2.1a outlet (Berkin) and a genuine looking Samsung cord, I tried my friends iPhone 4 cord its too short by a fraction.
should I buy the cord the seller has pointed me in,the direction of? Here is the link.

I have one of these tablets too, while I don't have your specific issue, I can agree with Oblivian above. The tablet is sensitive to different chargers AND cables.

Keep experimenting, you will probably find a combination that works for it.
