What are peoples thoughts on the best budget phone out there at the moment.. and i'm talking sub $500

 

 

 

was hoping the oneplus 3t would drop into that range but seems it will sell out before getting there.

I don't think you can beat the Xiaomi Redmi 4X Pro from AliExpress for under $200NZ. Great camera, fast chipset, great build quality.

Moto G5 Plus is a great piece of kit for the dollars. 7.1, great battery life with the Snapdragon 625, and has band 28. Bought one for my mum the other week.

Fully recommend the Vodafone Smart V8 for $350. Bought one last weekend as a replacement for a broken Lumia 735 and it's my first Android phone after persisting with Windows for a few years. Loving it so far, seems a really device for the price and comes with the latest version of android too. Few people I've showed it to have been surprised the price is that low, including a couple of people using Samsung S7's. Didn't want to spend more than $400, and was tossing up between this and a couple of others and very happy with my choice in the end.
