Howdy,
Can anyone give me a clear cut way to join my Vodafone 845 to my Airport Base Station?
I have spent a couple of hours browsing how to achieve this... but I still have not come across a way to make it work.  I enter my WEP password to no avail and I do not know how to turn my usual WEP password into a Mac compatible Airport WEP Hex password that is apparently required...
Any help?

Cheers,
Kempy.

Does it have to be WEP?

I see my 845 appears to support WEP.....but I've never used it with WEP. Have you tried upper and lower case versions of the key? You can enter it as WEP ASCII or WEP hexadecimal.....or set it to Auto. What options have you tried?

WEP is terrible and is like having a mesh screen door as your front door in terms of security. Switch to WPA or preferably WPA2 assuming your device supports it.

WEP may be a teriible security measure... but it seems to be working well enough to stop my phone connecting. Ive tried inputting my usual password and connecting but that does not seem to work at all and alternatively setting up the wifi manually doesnt seem to be a helping answer either... Im not really sure where the issue lays.

$60 will get you a new Wifi AP that can do WPA2.

Would save some hassle....

It's highly recommended you change the Airport to use WPA or WPA2, with AES encryption and with a password that is >8 characters long with a mix of letters and numbers.

Kill two birds with one stone!
