Hi folks,

Is it possible to use the 3g connection on my Galaxy phone to access the web on a (non-3g) Galaxy tablet using bluetooth...?

(I know I could take the sim out of the phone and put it into the tab when I wanted to use the tablet with the web - but I'd need to buy a 3g tablet)

So wondering if this is a work around...

Any thoughts appreciated
Cheers
Rus

you can set your Phone to be a wireless AP using the 3g connection and then get your tab to connect to it through there.

it is under settings wireless & network settings and then tethering & portable hotspot

iirc

Great stuff - thanks for that,

I know the concept - just hadn't done it,

Look forward to playing - I just bought the Tab on firstin.co.nz

See:-

Seems a great price...

I tether my 7" Galaxy to my SGS2 and it works well. Very fast. Chews through the battery though.

That is the only downside. It can basically finish off your phone battery within 3,5 hours with very moderate use.
