yep ..what's the use of telecom getting VF customers if they only spend $10 a month and only text - VF have done nothing to improve the cost of texting and I know when I called they weren't interested at all - and they should - but then again why should they if its such a big part of their revenue - I read that they have over 3 million txt a day so why don't they come to the party, it feels pretty much like double standards ....if I was telecom and I had this reaction I'd go back to doing nothing and trying nothing... just because you like the advertising doesn't mean they are any better than telecom and like I said its all about big business and you can't get bigger than Vodafone globally

Vodafone do not need to 'come to the party' Their market share never stopped increasing even with $10 txt.

Come on ...telecom didn't have any young customers to start with - at least you got a phone call back from the MD not many big corporates would even bother calling .. and if this is the reaction then maybe telecom shouldn't even try and get young people (not that I'm that old) but if you change your mind and go with a company just because you like their adverstising then maybe telecom's original startegy of do nothing is a better investment. and VF have changed all their advertising to business anyway so they are trying to be a big red version of telecom so its the lesser and cheaper of the 2 evils ... are all young cutsomers going to stay with voda when they don't do any youth advertising because that's exactly what they are starting to do now ... wake up ...you've been sucked into the media hype and played rigt into VF hands without even knowing it .. letting them get off scott free ... we need choice and at the moment telecom is the onyl one willing to take a punt at tryign to get it right

Yep, VF's new customers between June 03 - Jan 04 was 3 times that of telecoms. Go figure.

adam .. big ups to you for speaking up but its all about market share and how the big guys manipulate their reports ... of course voda would say that and telecom will tell you they've made huge gains as well .. you are point in case ...but this is about equity and you can't have rules for 1 and not for all just because you like them

Thanks for the comment, but if you actually check out the graphs in TELECOMS report, written by Kevin. The Vodafone bars are higher on every occasion, bar none. Check it out if you don't believe me, its on there website somewhere.

adam ...you can look at the bars if winning a discussion on whose bars bigger counts... but in turn the bigger guy should lead the market as well .. pass on profits to its customers whihc if your agrument stands true is exactly what VF are not doing !!! if I was telecom and I was the smaller of the bars then I'd follow the 'leader' and hold onto my money which they didn't do with $10 txt but at least they've keep some level of the 'intent' in it by still having savings of $90 a month with 500 txt...its always about the money .. that's how people keep jobs

On the whole Telecom is still making a healthy profit tho, but if they are forced to unbundle I think they will find they are in alot of trouble.

according to Kevin, its not about the money. If it was there would be other ways around it to keep most poeple fairly happy (well happier than they are now), for instance unlmited internal messages

Personally I think they should have waited a couple of years and instead of going CDMA gone all out on a WCDMA network, like Vodafone eventually will. But I am no expert on the subject. I'm only on Telecom for the txt, GSM seems more logical to me in the grand scheme of things. But then again I am an ignorant High School student with little 'real world' experience.....YET
