With GPS ON, it lasts just under 6 hours.

Ah, so that would mean switching on GPS for running/walking activity and switching it off for the rest of the day I guess. My biggest concern would be making sure it gets through at least a single day without needing a charge otherwise it would be a pain.

Is the UV sensor configurable at all or does it use a set of default values?

Also, did the package qualify for shipping at the smallest YouShop rates ($12.50 + $4.75)? If so it should still come in under NZ$400 which will mean no tax. :)

UV sensor is not configurable. I get warnings if I am out in the sun for too long. I wear my band on the inside which allows the UV sensor to always point up/outside and also protects my screen from accidental wall bumps. You can always run a manual UV scan when outside to let you know how good/bad it is and whether you need to apply any sunscreen protection.

Shipping was $30

My Wife's Band 2 has arrived at YouShop as well. My cousin's one will arriving at YouShop today as well hopefully.

Hehe, thanks for answering my questions. Just one more, what were the dimensions of the box shipped to you? I want to see if I can get cheaper ShipItTo shipping to keep it under NZ$400 total. Cheers. :)

Really want one of these. Looking to upgrade from my Garmin Vivofit to something with heart rate and GPS etc and since I use Windows phone this looks the best bet.

I purchased one in Canada in Nov 15 and love it............however, after just over two months of use have noticed the rubber strap splitting and it appears that it is a common problem (http://forums.windowscentral.com/microsoft-band-2/407353-rubber-strap-splitting-band2.html)

Apparently it is not repairable and MS is currently arguing it is not a warranty issue - I also suspect that all of us that have purchased from overseas have no chance of getting it addressed via warranty (although I am back in Canada often so will try and get a new one through the Best Buy chain I bought it from).

I ordered my Band2 from US MS Store at the start of November, and it worked fabulously for 3 months.

However in the past couple weeks i've had numerous issues with getting the band to charge (or hold a decent charge), silly issues where it will power off and eventually when i get it to turn back on (sometimes is a struggle) it will say the battery ran out, however it will also say it has battery capacity remaining (anywhere from 30-90%).

Unfortunately it is now at the point where i can't use it for more than a day (simply wearing it as a watch doesn't even work) as it will turn itself off stating the battery is dead.  So now have to figure a way of returning it to MS (as i ordered it online and used YouShop to get it here to NZ).

Filling in their support form is not helpful, as all i get is this...

"In order to send in your microsoft-band for service, you’ll need to create a Service Order. Unfortunately, that functionality isn’t available yet for your country on this site. We apologize for any inconvenience."

So sad times while i try to get it sorted.  But otherwise it was a fantastic device when it was working properly. :)  Unfortunately it doesn't look like i'm the only person to have battery issues, with a few forum posts i've read where people have replaced their band 2 multiple times with the same issue.

My band as of last week is also suffering from same issue as is my cousins. Both ours started giving time/date resets with battery issues same day. Have to send it back to US

Just updated my MS Store profile with the YouShop address details, and it let me fill in the return form.  Should receive an email shortly with return instructions.

I rang up MS Support in NZ and spoke to the Surface support team (the phone people could not help). They dealt with my issues with (split strap although also suffering the battery reset issue and suspect they were related) by confirming that it would be replaced under warranty but they required me to ring Canadian support and have a Canadian address for details for the return and replacement........

When I rang Canadian support they then advised they would inspect it to make sure it was not damaged as a result of mistreatment - suffice to say I will be very unhappy if they renege on the warranty replacement promise I got from MS NZ.

I do note that the Band 2 is now available for CAD$229 which is a significant discount on the original purchase price.....not sure if that means they have accepted it has issues or if they are preparing Band 3 for release.
