Re-terminating the cables at both ends can help improve the sound of your speakers... basically, it oxidises over time and can change the speaker performance. Cutting the cables, re-stripping them and re-attaching them certainly won't hurt!

Thanks for that another good tip.

I've just come across something else that I forgot (and no one else mentioned I think 😅).

I might try biamp this weekend

Passive bi amping won't make much difference.
But if you've got spare speaker cable you could give it a go.
I had a Onkyo TX-NR616 which I bi amped, didn't make much difference.
I think you'd need the right kind of speakers and 2 physical amps before you'd notice a difference with bi amping.

On shortish runs , the effects of cable upgrades are mostly placebo . (assuming reasonable cable to start with)
Thats why double blind testing is never used in audio tests .

Solid core mains house wire is as good as $100+++ cable .The hifi shops wont tell you that because they make alot of profit from cable.

Biamping, as mentioned above , any improvement will be 100% placebo.
Placebo is pretty powerfull, many 'upgrades' have been shown to make zero difference in double blind testing .
You need to be skeptical with claims of improvements. There are many who swear by the improvements of $500 audio fuses , of $1000 mains cable for the amp.

Your speakers are too big, your room is an awefull shape. HT amps are designed more for movies than music.
Move your setup outside for a test the the difference in sound will be massive .

agree with the placebo effect... it's very, very powerful.

however, i struggle to see how moving OP's equipment outside to see how they perform can be of any benefit. he will be watching movies and listening to music in the current location, won't he?
