yes, again as i said previously though, Firmware is quite different :)

Just don't look at the Gen 1, that's from a totally different vendor and i don't recall it being nearly as good

mrhaboobi: Well I guess I’m trying to decide if I give up on the orbi rbk50. And spend 320 on two mesh units. Not knowing what they are makes me nervous. Guess I was just wanting to see if I could see speed tests , range sizes etc. I can’t get my money back on the orbi and it’s flakey as hell so don’t want to sink more money into “unknown” devices. Spark can’t be the only company worldwide using them .

After well over a decade of running an Airport Extreme and Express network that has been rock solid (but with poor range), I have been really impressed at the combination of 2 Smart Mesh units working with the Smart modem. I decided to change because my Airports were so old, and didn't support modern speeds and band steering etc. 

What I have observed  so far after a few weeks is the improved throughput and range, and I no longer get the occasional problem roaming between my old APs. All of my Dbm figures when I do a scan look better than what I used to see, on both computers and mobile devices.
