Why not just port to orcon or vodafone? They have gear thats way more uptodate then telecoms (like it was made this side of historic events like the berlin wall falling etc) so can provide things you need.

One idea that might work if you want to absorb the costs instead of the callers.

Get your numbers swapped around, the voice number as the "dual" and the fax number as the primary line.
Get call diversion and divert the calls to the 028 2talk fax number. The "Dual" number will ring at home and the "fax" number will divery to the 2talk number.

Will cost you $5 a month for the smartphones on Anytime or total home and regular home-mobile call rates for the diversions.

YES! faxes are still used in droves, mostly by Baron marketing, Faxads and Faxattax to sell you guttering cleaning services, IMC payroll and to show the world really crude examples of page design :-P

what a fantastic idea. charging people to fax you might get them to reconsider why they need fax you in the first place. we get more spam fax than we get spam email - its only a couple of holdouts that really force us to keep a fax number. laywers particularly and they will bill us back the cost anyway, regardless if the call cost or not :p
