I changed all of our voice and internet services from Telecom and Xnet over to Vodafone at the end of February. Signed up to Smart3 and new iphone4. Homephone wireless for landline and kept 1 x voip with xnet. Naked DSL 30GB plan, connects at around 4.5mbps. Vodafone coverage not the best where we have built and signal varies depending on which room we are in. Purchased a suresignal when they first came out and the results were amazing with excellent signal and voice quality.
However, over the past 6 weeks or so, the problems started and have been getting worse.
Internet -
DSL signal drops off constantly, the VF helpdesk lodged 15 disconnects within a couple of hours. Chorus done a full check between the exchange and residence and found no problems. Since then, the drop offs have reduced (about 5 times per day) but are still happening
iPhone -
Signal strengths are inconsistent, at home and in town. I can be in the same spot and have full strength one minute and no signal the next. I will not get txts for a couple of hours and then have them all come in at once. Txts send fine. Voice calls constantly drop off. I will have good signal and then get a txt saying I have missed a call. I more often than not do not get voicemail notifications.
At home, using suresignal, the calls usually start off ok and then will either cut out, sound 'scrambled' or break up.
xnet VOIP -
Phone very rarely rings, caller will hear the dialing and after the set rings it goes to Voicemail.
Outgoing calls break up and echo for the other party.
I have tried different modems/routers, am currently using the supplied Vodafone unit. It is a new residence with nothing else between the demarc point and the router.
The biggest problem at moment is the iPhone and it would be great to get that sorted. VF have told me to go back to the retailer (JB Hifi). JB Hifi have tested the phone and cannot find any problems.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
