Interesting both networks measure churn of connections differently. TNZ measure active connections 6mthly , i believe and could be wrong but VNZ measure connections in a whole different way?
Also both networks have announced figures for last 4 quarters, TNZ won every one (well atleast 3 of them) yet VNZ increased market share???
It didnt add up then and doesnt now, can any one explain how VNZ can increase market share yet connect considerably less clients than TNZ for the same period?
I heard that Voda reckoned they won more clients over, i would say from experience that is happening on both sides and since portablity TNZ have certainly made the most of that.
Would be good to know how these figures work, i guess it depends how each network spins them!
You nearly answered the question yourself. That other quarter that Telecom didn't win - ending June 2006 - Telecom dropped 175,000 customers, and this means that their overall gain for the year was less than Vodafone. The drop appears to be due to Telecom writing off D-AMPS customers.
ok, that makes sense but where are those figures from, the majority of 025 customers transferred to 027, 175,000 seems a large amount to disappear but then again?
Would be interested to know if VNZ measures connections by number of sim cards sold or like telecom number of active connections currently on the network. TNZ clients disconnect prepaids etc and go to post paid plans etc alot, it seems to be the way things are done at TNZ where as VNZ only meassure disconnected sims, i know there are tonnes of SIMs connected out there that are never going to be used, many sitting in draws.. Hard to quantify that though.
