lchiu7: I think I am going to have a word to our TCL account manager and perhaps have him forward a note to the CEO and/or Steve Jackson. They need to hear the voices of their customers.

Its is still the arp traffic issue in parts of Wellington. I dont fully understand it...but i understand that the price has gone up $10/month and with the discount off..in effect Users are paying an extra $20/month for an unstable connection that means if they are a gamer the network is crap at peak times.

These issues have been going on since November in Wellington...........we must be mad sticking with them....or we genuinly think it will be fixed.

I know Chch people are happy now...but why would a major telco take sooo long to fix an issue that affects so many?

Since November (guessing here) I have had about 6 technician visits and spent probably 10 hours on hold to them. This must cost them a lot of money, when all they had to do was tell us the truth a long time ago.

The reason I am still with them is that I believe that they will have it fixed by the end of July and it is getting close.

Telstra execs must be laughing at us for continuing to support them in a sub par service which has been worse than ADSL for months.

phew....I feel better now

I have also been noticing drop-outs of my IM and lost conversations on Skype yesterday.  I havn't been doing any sigificant downlods over the last few days after being onsite at a KAREN/"The Loop" connected school who is on Citylink and getting average downloads of 400KB/s and peaking to 1.5MB/s... Mirrored ~40GB overnight.  Ahh now why can't home users get this in NZ... as I had this sort of performance in the netherlands 5 years ago... <sigh>

I have noticed that my service has got significantly worse since the supposed upgrades. It seems that mid afternoon on the weekends i get on average a 1500/40 connection. A far cry from the 10000/2000 im now paying even more money for.
Come on Telstra Clear, sort your s**t out!

I changed to Telecom ADSL-1 and it's been a totally new experience compared to the awful cable.

Gone are the cable outages, gone are the cable 128kbps international speeds, gone is youtube buffering. Telstra-cable seems like a real dud... I can now reliably use my VoIP systems an play games. Xtra have finally turned off interleaving on the pro plans too which has made a marked improvement over what was already a top speed network.

So I assume you have logged a fault with TCL?

Those sorts of speeds and your comments about VoIP indicate a local issue (ie potentially with your modem or cabling to your house) rather than a network wide one. Nothing will happen if you don't tell them.
