Panq: Still haven't found a working solution for my good ol' WM2k3 HP iPaq... Not a major issue since I don't even check it hourly, but it's kinda annoying. The patch mentioned in another thread didn't work.
Back on topic, MS update worked perfectly on all three XP machines in my flat.

Nety: Can I just say.. as someone who is still dealing with large numbers of Win2k machines that MS may have covered XP and newer well but the support if you had something older was somewhat more limited and did cause some headaches.

In fairness Windows 2000 was deemed end of life some time ago. It's like mainframes - most companies I know work on a current less two releases for support/patches.

lapimate: How much confidence should we have in Microsoft's Timezone info. and hence implementation?
Microsoft's detailed KB article How to address the daylight saving time changes in 2007 by using the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931667 of 5 Sep 07 states:
"... Extended DST periods by country
The following table lists the upcoming extended DST periods by country or region and date.
Country/Region Under the old law, DST ended on: Under the new law, DST will end on:
...
New Zealand Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 3:00 A.M. Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 3:00 A.M." [my emphasis].

Great spotting - In terms of confidence in tools - a whole heap as I've been monitoring our inbound calls for Personal/Professional and Premier Support in NZ, and the call volumes in terms DST support have been very low to say the least. In terms of confidence in the accuracy of the information published in that table, a little less :-) I have pinged the approrpriate people to have this addressed.
