Try this, or the plain version.

Thanks but mayonnaise is the part I don't like. ETA was the only one based on yoghurt, and now there seems to be no alternative for that except to make my own.

Though I have noticed a dearth of other brands - Paul Newmanns seems to have disappeared from my local Countdown, and is showing as 50c at Pan n Sav, with a very soon to be expired expiry, and no other stock other than the Caesar, and the Classic Salad dressing.

Imo ETA went gunning for Paul Newman. Those cowardly varmints killing his products now that he's dead!

I have a shelf full of balsamic 99c expired product from Pak and save. It will probably never go off if I shake it now and then ; ).

I used to make my own reasonable imitation of it (because cheaper) and will go back to that before buying ETA those no good hustlers.

ETA is one step up from Home Brand IMV - they are not even close to PN in quality terms.

I can recommend a good dressing I make a lot.

Good Quality EVOO

Red Wine Vinegar

Crushed Garlic

Sugar and Salt and Pepper

Dijon Mustard (to keep the oil and Vinegar mixed evenly otherwise known as emulsifying agent).

Depending on whether I can be bothered, fresh herbs such as Thyme, Mint, or Rosemary

That looks pretty good. I'll try it. Btw, from memory, removing the mustard and adding paprika practically creates Paul Newman's. Paprika gives it the 'warm' background taste.

Edit: the paprika variant requires a bit of soak time, it's not a same day eat.

Home brand. Goodness me. I'd buy Pam's before that, any day of the week.

Pam's has standards. Having said that, I can't recall the last time I purchased Pam's. Therefore I'd guess it had the intended effect of lowering prices for other products.

I can't see Home Brand achieving that for Countdown. Quality seems inconsistent and therefore less a brand than a packaging.

I'm sure alot of Pams products are just the compeditors products in different packaging.

If you look at there Wheat Biscuits, the ingredients and box is just the same as Sanitarium

I discovered today, their pies look, taste and have the same ingredients as Irvines
