knoydart:nicks: It does make life easier but be warned that even odds they'll ask to weigh your bag at checkin - and 7kg isn't that much when you take off the weight of the bag.
I've done it before to the UK on hand luggage alone so its possible. Just looking at a lighter bag to see if I can gain any weight for extra stuff.
knoydart: Not a big fan of the wheelie stuff unless its a Pelican case and thier version come in at 6.1Kg for the 1510 case.
Have been looking at the Henry from Cactus however. Kiwi made and 600g for the pack. Already use a zero pack and rather good in my opinion.
NonprayingMantis:
Just be thanksful we don;t have to q up for stupid departure tax anymore. we still pay it, but queueing up was such a major pain in the butt before.
graemeh: Wow, that's nice and light. Not very big though, for that money you'll get twice the size in an ultra light wheelie bag. The wheely bag is 4 times the weight though.
I wouldn't want to see those straps get caught in airline conveyor belts though.
