Ask a dolphin or a dog to weld up a metal box . Or even ask them to lift a hammer or start a fire

We are finding more & more events in galaxies that would wipe out any potential life forms.
Complex life on earth was a fluke . A lucky break. We are far enough away from the more dangerous parts of the galaxy, we at living in a time
when our galaxies black hole is inactive . The sun will wipe us out in a few billions years .

Even planets in the 'goldilocks zones' are death traps for complex life eg Mars & Venus .
Perhaps the reason we havnt been able to find/confirm advanaced alien civilisations , despite decades of searching, its that they arnt there .

And why is advanced alien life so fascinated with anal probing.

I think machines as labour-saving devices are working to assist evolution of (some) humans but heading in the same direction that resulted in some lizards losing their legs, ending up looking more and more like snakes.

I've been reading a series of science fiction/comedy books by Craig Allanson (Expeditionary Force).

It's pretty silly, but fun to read. One of the main characters is an ancient AI contained within a beer can-sized object, which everyone refers to as Skippy.

Skippy comedically explains how backwards Humans are (referring to them as Monkeys), while the various space-faring races wage an ongoing millennia-long war in two factions.

The point of this aside is that a lot of what is mentioned in these books is somewhat beyond comprehension for a non-scientist like me...being able to simultaneously exist in a several Spacetime things, having technology so advanced it can't be adequately explained to humans because we're not evolved enough etc etc etc.

What I am trying to say is...what would we know? We're a pretty simple and small race on one planet that knows so little and can barely muster up the energy to leave our own orbit.

You'd need to write a living will defining how many bitcoin you'd be prepared to pay for the keys to decrypt your memories and consciousness each time you were hacked. Maybe that's what prions causing CJD etc are - bits of malicious code injected by alien hackers in our distant past.

Scanning the brain, if ever worked out technically, would very likely be a destructive process like a 3D printer working in reverse with a very very fine head sucking up the atoms and measuring structure at that point in space. So unfortunately a transfer rather than a backup, but once done then could make as many copies as you like!

If genetic memory is a thing ("instinct" certainly is), then organic life seems to have mastered replication of parts of "consciousness" - whatever that means.
