I want to emulate a VDSL connection for testing and setup of modem / routers.
I was thinking something like a Netsys NV-202 or NV-720R bridge/modem connected to a PPPoE server tagged with VLAN10 would do the trick?

If you find anything, let me know, I've had this exact thought, followed by chevrolux's thought, and then just kinda shrugged and moved on for the day.

Most of these units use 30a (I think) so they can do 100Mbps over the short links they're designed for.
Like DLM, it's neither here nor there for testing because it's not something which is likely to change whether the unit being tested will work IRL.

i'd test on 17a, make sure you have correct bandplan etc.
Ideally any device your testing you should be making sure works with G.INP and G.Vector.

Thanks for your input - I was hoping you would turn up.
I don't know how this relates to testing whether an item works or not.
But say I was to look for this, what CO device would you recommend?

Generally working devices which just need to the tested for basic operation and correct configuration.

I would suggest just subscribing to a vdsl connection and using a live one to test with.
However these units i think if i remember right allow you to select the band plan using the dip switches on the back. I might be thinking of the SNR margin setting. I imagine you could set it to CO mode and your plan should work. Even if the bandplan isnt correct, most CPE modems will automatically detect it anyway so if it works with this modem in CO mode then it should work on the chorus network.
We use the proper netsys dslams at a few apartment complexes and MDUs.

If you want to PM me your phone number I could test this for you - I have a few of them sitting in the workshop. The guys i took over the MDU networks from were adamant that we needed to use the netsys CPE with the dslams but i found a netcomm NFV18 works fine in bridge mode so to tidy up the wiring at customer sites we are now just replacing them with a standard vdsl router rather than the separate vdsl bridge + ethernet router

They will work within reason - I've deployed large numbers of these in PtP configs and have some setup as a CO units speaking to VDSL2 modems.
Not all modems will speak to them as it's not really what they're designed for and you have no way of configuring the bandplan or modulation used, so wouldn't really consider it the most appropriate solution for what sounds like testing of production equipment rather than a simple test lab.

Right, well that would do what you want....
Honestly, i'd just get a bog standard VDSL line installed at your premises for the point of testing.
