Here are my current stats:

The high total error seconds is due to the connection having been up nearly 150 days.

That current throughput.... What page was your story on?

Had a weird sync at the end of last January, then DLM put me on 17a: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=90&topicid=105744&page_no=57#751383

mattgreen: I made the mistake of upgrading to 6.03 as a result of the security notice..

Was VDSL on a Broadcom line card. Now using internet via my mobile...

Some things of note.. Upgrade wizard didn't report any upgrade so I just used the 6.03 image.. Perhaps that should have been my first warning sign. Wish I'd taken a look at here at that point.

Upgrade seemed fine but now can't get DSL sync.

Did a factory reset in case it was some hangover in settings.. Despite choosing NZ as the location I still get no sync.

Trying to do a recovery to 5.51 now but no dice.. My PC blew up last week and my Win7 VM doesn't seem to be able to connect.

Will call Snap but thinking this is going to be busted until I get my hands on a loaner laptop.

another case of be very careful with 6.0...

Very much so... Also be careful about going up to 05.51 from 05.22... Looks like the downgrade links are dead and the 05.22 firmware is no longer on the AVM ftp server. FFS.

Downloading the beta firmware from ftp://service.avm.de/Beta/FRITZ%21Box_7390/fritzbox-beta-7390-27435.zip to see if it's any use..

If anyone has 05.22 downgrade guide and image handy would be great if they can share it.

Thanks :) May yet go back but so far so good on a 6.01 beta thanks for charsleysa

charsleysa:

If you have the 7390 follow this link to the BETA firmware (no promises on providing a fix).
https://mega.co.nz/#!09tRXLCS!f3XYlXJ-yDLbiXJCLoQv6NVqYYA2gXHM8V19wGpDukM

This has got me syncing. And interestingly now 36128 (from 34720) with a CRCPM drop to 2 (from 4). This is with SNR dialed back one notch for stability - I want DLM1 more than speed.

It's also stopped reporting a false 17a profile which is nice.

Has anyone got a copy of .22 version of firmware for Fritz!Box 7360?  international version 111.05.22  - as mentioned here.

Seems there was a .24 version of firmware as well.

Have looked around the net, so far found nothing useful.

Found Annex.B version of .22 firmware here which is probably not useful for NZ.

i dont think 5.22 exists for the 7360, not 100% sure there.

there is 5.24 though. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5yN7pnNfi5UTktmc09rOGNDMTA/edit?usp=sharing

Thanks for that, I've downgraded to that now.

My inline links didn't show up before, this is where I found a reference to .22 firmware for 7360: http://it-blogger.net/post/FRITZ-Box-Fon-WLAN-7360-Firmware-111-05-22.aspx

After downgrading to .24, line stats normal again, but sync speed has slightly dropped. For this line attenuation of 6db, reading from other posts should be on a different profile and get better sync speed right.

Yes, eventually. DLM is supposed to switch to 17a on a short line 90 days after the last DLM profile change.

Things have just turned to custard for me.

I logged into my 7390 last night to check my line stats and saw that I was getting more than 720 CRC errors per hour. That's about 12 per minute! This was showing pretty consistently across 24 hours shown on the graph. It didn't look like DLM had been doing anything either, because I was still on the same DLM-1 profile from when I first got connected. I've had no resyncs other than the ones I've caused.

So what did silly me do? Go into the Line Settings page and knock the SNR slider 1 spot the left, thinking it might decrease the errors. On the 6.03 firmware. Yeah. Complete memory lapse. Obviously it didn't want to sync. Doh!

I tried unplugging the router for a few minutes to see if that would help. Nope. I hit the Reset Settings link on the page with the DSL cable unplugged, then rebooted and plugged in the DSL cable. Nope. I turned the router off for 15 minutes. Nope. At this point it was 2:30am, so I unplugged both the power and DSL cables and left it till this morning.

So 7am, I plug everything in again... still no sync. I called Snap, and the first thing I was asked to do was to pull power from the router. The Snap tech said that he was still showing that I was connected and had DSL sync. This obviously couldn't be true, and it looked like the port had locked. He wanted to put a call straight through to Chorus, but I asked if we could do a port reset first, acknowledging that it would reset DLM. (I hoped it would get DLM to actually work!!!) The Snap guy tried, but couldn't because the system showed that there was a Chorus work order still open on the line. The last work order was VDSL upgrade last weekend, which should have been long closed. He put a call through to Chorus to look at the work order and do the reset.

I got a text message just before 8am saying that the reset had been done, but hadn't helped at all. I called back, and it sounds like the only option now is to get Chorus to come out and check the line. I'm now stuck waiting for that to happen, which probably won't be until tomorrow. I'll also have to pay for the call-out if they find things are wrong at my end. The house wiring was freshly installed by Chorus, so I reckon my options are either line problem or faulty Fritz. Fingers crossed it's the line!

typical issue with the fritz actually.

it fails to notifiy the DSLAM that its disconnecting (idk how the DSLAM doesnt go hey, im not connected anymore though..) and so, you cant connect because to your line, its already connected.

basicly, what is required is for a chorus tech to physically reboot your card (i suspect the text was them remotely trying to do it, which really isnt any better than what snap have clearly already tried.)

all in all, this issue has been around since 5.51, i have personally complained about it many times, trapped myself in it twice.

snap should not be sending out devices for vdsl, with this bug in it. in the end, in my experience, it takes a few days to get fixed.

a tech will come to your house, probably not know whe he is doing and run tests, and you will have to wait for one that actually thinks to try a reboot of your card.

My wife bumped the power supply for the Fritz last night so had an unscheduled sync. I'm now syncing at 37376 - but with steady 8 CRCPM. I'm hoping DLM doesn't decide to drop me off DLM1!

Tempted to drop the SNRM slider back another notch but then don't want to risk DLM thinking I'm having error resyncs. Think I'll just leave it for a few days and see what happens as I managed to stay on DLM1 with a 4 CRCPM on 5.22

at 8 CRCPM, yes, i suspect you have lost it. i tried olding DLM-1 at about that much awhile back and it went out the window pretty fast..

be it, your wife isnt to blame persay, DLM has choosen to give you a better since that just also happened to error alot.

Im pretty sure when I jumped to 17a, my last dlm change wasnt 90 days ago.  It was more like 1 month ago....
