AT&T are running out of time then, especially if NoDo is supposed to be out in March, as I believe carriers can only block one update, i.e. once an update has been made available by MS, the carriers need to have released the previous update...

Looks like the Trophy that's getting released on Verizon already has NoDo installed http://wmpoweruser.com/verizon-htc-7-trophy-a-dual-gsmcdma-phone-with-world-roaming/

^ yep, that's why I am not worried bout the No-Do update because it will come to my device on time no matter what.

Hopefully the NoDo update will also bring proper compatibility with NZ, i.e. not having to set Locale to US to get Bing Maps to give directions...

TangoNZ:
Interesting we both got the updates at about the same time, maybe MS decided that Vodafone NZ branded Trophy's are good to go, or maybe just cooincidence.

Anyone else got the update?

I'm also using the Trophy on 2d instead of Voda, but yet to get the update.

Did you make any modifications like remove your 2d sim or put in a Voda sim to recieve the update or did you get it without doing anything?

EDIT: Ok so I tried plugging my phone in again without touching the sim and the update went through sweet :D

Yeah same as you Apek, never received any notification on the phone itself, but after seeing Mauricio's post I thought I might as well check for an update through Zune, but as soon as I plugged my phone in, the Zune software offered the update. And no never removed my 2D SIM.

The OS will ping the updat eservers once every three days. If you don't want to wait, plug it and manually check for updates, as you did.

Help! Mine has stopped at setp 6 of 9 (Rebooting your phone). Should I disconnect it or try to manually restart it. This is a vanilla Vodafone HTC Trophy with no hacks and the only app installed is Fruit Ninja so I would have hoped this would have worked smoothly.

Zune is on Win 7 (Vaio X series)

Unplug, shut it down, remove the battery, start it again. Make sure you have enough disk space available on your HDD for a full backup of your handset.

It's telling me not to do that, shall I still go ahead. I have 35GB free and I belive the phone only has 8GB so I believe I'm fine there.

Steps to deal with this situation (direct from my Microsoft contacts):

1. If backup process is in apparently prolonged state (exceeding the general 30-40 min) with no movement of progress (including stuck at 99/100%)
2. Disconnect the device from the PC
3. Pull the battery
4. Replace battery and power on
5. Device should reboot into the OS Kernel

Did you first update the zune software itself?

It's safe to close zune. Disconnect phone. Run the zune software update itself first which will download a mini update of it's own then connect your phone again and run the phone update.

Thanks.

I shut down the phone and pulled it's battery, rebooted the PC also (just in case). Started the PC (check internet connected), plugged in the phone and upgrade started automatically (not sure I'm keen on that aspect, Apple did the same to my iPhone which broke it, now they ask me before upgrading, anyhow, moving along) and this time the phone displayed a little crossed arrow (this did not display last time) and upgrade complete. Thanks again.
