I've been playing Gunfire Reborn for the last couple of months. I do not ususally spend that long on a single game, and I do not ususally enjoy roguelikes where all your progress (except unlocks) got wiped each death and you strart from scratch, no saves, but this game for unknown reason is deeply satisfying for me.

Wonderful, one of the Beyond Light story missions on Destiny 2 is completely broken and it stops you from being able to advance at all. How is a 3 year old DLC still releasing with that kind of bug unfixed?

I know of one game - Final Doom - where the developer sent a bugfix to the publisher in 1996 but it has yet to receive an official patch (although there's an 'unofficial' one released by the developer directly, which is a bit fiddly to install).

Gran Turismo 7 pre-ordered and downloading.

I'm feeling a bit off, hopefully it comes to nothing but by this time tomorrow I'll know if I need to rest and take Friday off work. πŸ˜‰

[Elden Ring] Apparently it's the hardest yet, couple reviewers already stated they took a couple days to beat some bosses and had to put the controller down and come back because they were getting too angry. I don't see the enjoyment in that personally.

The game really interests me but I'll never play it - mainly because I wouldn't be skilled enough. I would not like trying boss fights over and over again with slight tweaks in my set-up or approach - experienced that in The Witcher 3. I'd end up throwing the controller against a wall.

Like one or two others here, I usually put games on a relatively easy setting and just enjoy the play, not-overwhelming combat and the story (if there is one). With that approach, I'm really loving HFW.

Even though ER has averaged 97 on Metacritic, the pro critics agree on the extreme difficulty - and there is no option to change the difficulty setting. You have to admire the devs for sticking to their guns on this - but have to wonder if it will affect sales - a game receiving universal critical acclaim but perhaps not getting mass acceptance. I suspect a good proportion of players will end up not completing it.

I agree, I dare say this is why Bloodbourne isn't on the radar for a PC release and why we haven't heard anything on a sequel. Universally acclaimed, pathetic sales numbers.

That makes me laugh. "I've been stuck at the first boss for 10 hours". Um, how about you run past him then? Using that big open space to either side?

Yes - of course you can do that - apparently it's got a brilliant open world with an unbelievable number of side things to do. But if you want to play to play the game properly, eventually you'll need to defeat a boss. That has taken this guy 10 hours - he's not physically stuck. (I suspect you're just stirring a bit πŸ˜€).

The first boss you encounter is much more difficult than some of the other bosses. It's presumably there to teach you that you can skip them and come back later.

That 'first' boss was actually number 5 or 6 for me in terms of actually defeating them. The Reddit post seemed to be of the mindset that you must defeat every boss you see in order, which isn't the case (I may have misinterpreted though!)

Yes but if that's not obvious, some players are just going to say f it, and give up - then tell their mates it's not a great game/too hard. I'm sure games sell mainly by word of mouth and social media - not by people reading Metacritic.

How are you enjoying it overall?

Let me put it this way: I got the game around midday on Saturday, I have a 'business hours' job, and I was out on Sunday and Monday evenings. Despite that, I'm something like 17 hours in. Probably a good sign :)

Just opened HFW to find that an update, 1.006, is available. When playing yesterday, I thought to myself “Wish Aloy wouldn’t keep mentioning her stash almost every time she gathers a resource - a bit irritating”.

A small item in today’s patch release notes says “Aloy won’t mention her stash quite as often”. πŸ˜€

The comments in there from people playing the game just emphasis what I said about it sounding like a terribly un-fun game.
