Cities Skyline is a known memory hog and if you have mods is one of the few games that will require more than 16gb of ram. The base game would still struggle with just 8gb I reckon

Okay, played it for about an hour. Very interesting! The controls will take some getting used to for me however - I'm fully used to Simcity 4 and kept using the right mouse button to move around the map, only to find it didn't do anything.
I couldn't figure out how to change the view from black and white to colour with all the houses etc displayed. I noticed that happened after using the right mouse button - at least, I think it was. Any tips?
I'll definitely be back to play again, I think once I get my head around the controls it could be quite enjoyable.
Edit: how do I increase the virtual memory? I did find the performance a little sluggish at times, although my system has 8GB - would this not be enough?
if the game opened and played then you don't need to increase the memory at this stage, and its not going to stop it being sluggish, that's likely due to the rest of your PC specs. try dialing back the graphics settings a bit. google increase virtual memory size and your operating system if you think it will help. but the game loads it all to memory when it opens the map so i don't see it doing much at this point.
The black and white views depends on what view you are in, one of the easy ways to get out of it is the select/deselect the info view at the top left this should remove you from what ever view you are in.

Finally jumped into some Deep Rock Galactic with a mate. How the hell did it take me this long to get on the hype train, what a seriously fun game. Hooked.
Yeah, lot of fun :D Mates and I were playing it a lot :)
Some great humor in it :)

Finally got a PC good enough to run Star Citizen and wow, blown away by the scope of this game it's just amazing.

The HFW in-game stats tell me I’ve been playing for 60 hours and I’m at Level 38 and 33.36% completion. I believe skill level maxes out at 50 - and this means you can’t fill all the skill trees.
The stats now show that I’ve just reached the max Level 50 and 49% completion after playing for 76 hours. I’ve been concentrating on side quests and lots of other misc stuff - but even after trying to go slow on the Mains, I have done 10 out of 14 Main Quests and 18 out of 28 Side Quests.
I was able to build up skill points by sometimes grinding out large numbers of machine kills. I spent these initially on filling the ‘Infiltrator’ skill because I like taking out rebel camps and outposts purely by stealth.
At level 50 I have accumulated 103 points out of the 162 needed to fill all six skill trees. I have filled three trees and small parts of the other three. After L50, there are no more points for machine kills - only for completing quests. These now mount up quite slowly so I’m not actually sure whether what I said above above (bold) is true or not.
With the level maxing at 50 but only being ~50% through the game, I feel a bit cheated.
Edit: I found a website that asserts that it is possible to get all skills:
“Can You Get All the Skills in One Playthrough?
Yes, you can unlock all Skills in all skill trees in Horizon Forbidden West. However, to do so, you will need to earn enough Skill Points. These are earned by playing through Main Quests, Side Quests, Errands, and other side activities and objectives. By playing most of the game's Quests and other missions, you will gain enough Skill Points to unlock every Skill in Horizon Forbidden West, but it will take some time.”

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
So my overall impression right now of Forbidden West is one of slight disappointment.
It's beautiful, no doubt, and some elements of gameplay are better, but I can't help but feel some frustration at some elements too. Namely, an overly complex story that doesn't seem entirely cohesive (though it may be that I am not playing the story fast enough to keep track of the seemingly endless characters and factions and plots.
I find traversal really good on the whole, but some mechanics like the glider are frustrating. The height vs distance you can travel from one glide to another varies widely depending on where you are and if you are completing a mission or just moving around. For example I can cover x distance in a glide during traversal generally, but in a mission, you will somehow be able to cover more distance or won't drop down as quickly, but you don't know that, so you dismiss a glide opportunity thinking it's too far, to find that actually, that's the only way across and somehow that jump will land.
There have been a couple of missions where the path to get to something has been so obscure I spend a long time wandering around in circles. I can't recall the name of the mission but the one where the IT guy and Sobeck are together was one of the worst missions I've play in a game in 5 years for that.
Out of interest, how many people who are playing are using combat mechanics beyond the bow and heavy melee? I don't seem to be able to get the hang of some of the staff ones where you have to charge up your staff and then do a special move, because rarely is an opponent still long enough for the 4 strikes to land before they have moved out of range which breaks the chain. Perhaps I need to do more of the practice events or something, but even during the tutorial it didn't seem to work that well.
Man, the share scope of things to do in Destiny 2 is incredible. It's hard to know what to do next, I don't think I've touched the main story since leaving the EDZ. Moved on to Europa for Beyond Light and Mars for The Witch Queen. I'd love to dip my hand into some Crucible PVP but I have no idea about putting together a build that would do anything. Love the Gambit PVE/P but I get iced when going through the portal.
Would love to find an NZ clan to play with for Raids etc.

I have been having SO much fun with my best mate playing Division 2. As previously mentioned, one of my favourite all-time loot shooters and I finished the game solo, but playing it Co-op is just so much fun.
There is quite a lot of time spent upgrading gear etc, and two people doing it, can chew through a bit of playtime.
My previous was Borderlands 2 and 3, but we found we didn't end up changing equipment nearly as often as there as from about mid game, upgrades became more rare or the difference was pretty minimal when you did upgrade.

Yeah, I have sunk a lot of hours in to D1 and D2. Two of my all time favorite looter-shooters. Completed it solo, enjoyed the co-op I was playing with a mate until he got bored an ditched it. Haven't played it since :-(
As much as I hate to admit, this last week been bashing fortnight with the twins on their switches and me on the PC/series X. Kids were in iso for the week as the daughter tested positive, so after my work as a bribe we played fortnight for an hour or two, and it was surprisingly good fun. Wouldn’t play it single player but as a trio with the kids it was enjoyable. Now to get them playing some other games haha
After 120 hours I have finally done everything I want to achieve in Horizon Forbidden West. In my usual OCD way I have completed all types of quests, found all locations and collectables (except for not all of the 300+ datapoints) and completely cleared the map of question marks. Also completely maxed five of the six skill trees.
The only things I haven’t done are (1) the in-game mini-boardgame challenges (which I really dislike) and (2) all of the hunting ground challenges. After all that the game says I’m 81% completed. These two exceptions and the missing data points apparently account for 19% completion - that doesn’t quite make sense to me.
Collected 55 out of 59 of trophies (which normally don’t really interest me) mostly by default - missing three due to my exceptions above plus the Platinum for getting all other trophies. Certainly not OCD enough to spend hours getting those final three.
Great game. Now back to Cyberpunk 2077.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
I'm not sure how trustworthy those percentages are. I feel that I must be towards the end of Elden Ring (I'm up to Commander Neill) and it reckons I'm 19% done. The problem is that the percentages run in chunks... e.g. I'm really close to getting the weapon achievement, which is just a yes/no thing despite needing dozens of items to get it done.

Yup, end game content in D1 and D2 are great fun. Just wish I had someone to do it with lol

Came back to mention this, someone else said they didn't have any friends to play with.
If you head to the map screen, one of the top tabs allows you to set your on call status.
When you are available you will receive calls from others playing who need help.
In the evenings it's a crackup to see you joining games with a lot of players with NZ in there names...
Add in the haka emote and it's a awesome time with others you don't know, but in a coop manner so you're not being smashed by other players like some other open games like this.
