I have a D-Link DSL-2730B Wireless router, and it is meant to be ADSL2/2+ I was switched over in December to ADSL2+ and my internet connection ceased, after a discussion via phone to Telstra and Chorus checking the line for a fault, the chorus guy rang me and asked what router I had. He told me I needed to update the firmware, and that he would put it back to ADSL1. So Internet back, I upgraded the firmware. Today I asked Telstra to push me back onto ADSL2+ as school holidays and a pretty full exchange(taradale Napier) were taking my speedtest results down to 3.5mbps. I got an email back saying it would happen tonight, and it did. Except I lost internet connectivity again. So with my smart phone I googled, and came across this site http://www.computercave.co.nz/d-link-dsl-2730b-connection-issues.htm which says the following:

So, supplied a customer with a D-Link DSL-2730b wireless N 150 ADSL 2/2+ Modem Router that was subsequently returned as faulty.  Tested in the workshop and found that it could not detect ADSL on the line that had previously had Telecom supplied Thomson TG585 and Linksys WAG310 working just fine.  Reinstalled the Linksys and no issues connecting.

After numerous hours Googling, I emailed D-Link and much to my surprise I had a reply within 30 minutes.  The answer was that Telecom NZ DSLAM equipment was having problems communicating with the Broadcom chipsets used in the 2730B, and that Telecom were "working on the problem".  The interim solution was to revert the 2730B to ADSL 1, as described here

While this solution may get a connection up and running for a desparate end-user, its not really acceptable given that the modem is sold as ADSL2/2+.  In my opinion, I think D-Link should remove the 2730B from sale in NZ until the problem is resolved, given that they're not likely to sell it with a warning about the issue.

 In the meantime, I guess it's buyer beware!

So I got my connection back to ADSL1, So who would know what the ETA is on this being compatible or thoughts on who i should contact as the product does not do as it says it should here in New Zealand. Or any other thoughts, as i don't see why i should have to fork out for a new router.
