Well that is probably the name of the computer that is using it. Possible that someone in the house has given the wifi password to a friend or something?

That style of computer name sometimes happens when you factory reset a PC or boot into a recovery console

foxy38: not a true net volunteer...turned both Huawei devices of and it still shows..but its not showing now...as I was saying it was a new thing...didn't c it on router which is asus,,forgot password and admin thingy to loggin there..downloaded a programme from whos on my wifi// and that's how I have seen this seems to have gone for now...

didn't see it on the router.

that means it probably is your neighbour's dongle

When creating a wireless network you have to give it a password to keep secure. When you connected to your WiFi network for the first time, did it ask for a password? Have you ever changed it?

you said you never saw it connected on your router, I take it that means you saw it on your network map on the PC or on your network watcher app. it just means your neighbour has something, it wasn't connected to your router at all. unless you've seen it on your router's connected devices list...

you reallllyyy should be relying on its own MAC table than an app of sorts. Just incase it phones home itself or makes a virtual device to do the scanning.

If you mean you can't admister the device acting as an AP.

Time to factory reset the router. Adjust settings and use its own management view of connected devices. Its quite possible someone else has remote access...

Not sure about the asus routers, but some others have the default password generated in a way that anyone who knows the mac address - which it broadcasts - may be able to calculate, so if the networks name and password are the ones that it shipped with there is a chance that someone has just figured it out and got onto it. Also if it has WPS with a PIN enabled, that is easily bruteforced on older gear that didnt shut it down after a few wrong attempts.

may look at factory reset perhaps...password for router was written down ie admin then a pword I gave it but doesn't recoqnize it..so yes only using the above wireless network watcher to c whats on my wifi etc.. so factory reset of asus router involves ?? just resetting password? then being able to loggin as admin? is it rather simple to do thanks for everyones comments as well been a help
