Well done! finally someone gets it... Most technology marketing is a bit scammy, but WiFi equipment claims are on a whole 'nother world.
As RunningMan stated, you never achieve WiFi data transfers anything close to the quoted line rate of the WiFi connection. A good summary is at the Speedtest.net FAQ.
In addition, net IP layer throughput of WiFi is typically 60% of the air link rate due to WiFi being half-duplex with ACKs, and being CSMA/CA. The number of simultaneous connections, and even the type of wireless security can affect and slow down some older routers with inadequate processors/memory.
If your wireless client is claiming a line rate for 300 Mbps, the the best you can realistically expect is about 150 Mbps of throughput - in ideal conditions. This will be impacted by other WiFi clients, time-varying RF coverage, interference sources, etc.
If your client is a MiBox S, my recommendation is add a USB Ethernet adaptor to the MiBox and run physical CAT5e+ cable to the location. It will save you a world of WifI-related headaches. Also the MiBox S is quite a modest platform for Plex, and might struggle with decoding high-rate 4K MKVs without triggering some sort of transcoding on the Plex server. If you have a gruntly Plex server, this may not be a problem, but from your previous statements it sounds like you a pretty keen for direct play only.
