And presumably the '6' for moisture protection applies when the unit is mounted correctly.
majiktripp: Still in debate with this with Dick Smith support - they contacted Ring on my behalf and have escalated to their legal team after I asked for SDoC.
No attention paid to my request for a refund, and so, it continues.
I guess at the end of the day you need to look at your reasons for wanting a refund and whether it falls under their return policy. The product wasn't faulty and the IP rating is now established but you did want to install it using a non supported scenario which meant it wasn't suitable for your purposes. IMHO any refund would probably fall under a good gesture particularly if the product had been opened.
Ring not wanting to supply a SDoC is another matter entirely and is very poor. I'd be pushing that as the ground for a refund if they're unable to supply it.
Final update on this saga. DSE have agreed to provide me the cost of the Ring Floodlight in store credit, upon my return of the unit. I have just shipped it back to them, at their cost, after several lengthy back and forth emails on the subject.
The finally supplied a declaration of conformity from Ring, below, but at that point I was beyond wanting anything to do with Ring for the foreseeable future.

From my point of view, it reached an amicable end, and I have no lesser an opinion of DSE than when I first purchased the item.
