Where are you getting about $10 for 57MB excess?
@ 50c per MB this is about $28 - unless you get a valuepack prior to the data usage

I've been charged $131.00 for 739MB - works out to 17.73c per MB. I have no idea how they worked that out but that would have been $10.10 for 57MB at the same rate - although whether or not I actually used that much was questioned by the CSR (and it surprises me that I would have used anything near that much).
This is not the main point though.
I also notice they never automatically charged my credit card at all last month despite that being set up - looks like the autopayment got cancelled instead of amended as I was advised would happen at the time as the (amended) charges have been brought forward to this bill
this is a slap in the face!
shadybrothers: 2 Degrees fix has been to put on a $1 spend control and have me reboot the phone :)
So much effort just to use the phone ;)

aw: The workaround for me is a temporary block on casual data anywhere. I may ask for that to be made permanent, keeps me in charge of my data spend in the unlikely scenario I go over my 1.1GB.

Can I ask whether this is done from 2 Degrees' end or is it from your end?
I called up 2 Degrees quoting this and the CSR mentioned (after asking his supervisor) that this cannot be done from their end. It can only be done from the phone end (ie. in Android, switching off mobile data).
Also, in the case of broadband zone data packs, is this the same as locking data out of zone?
