It should be 57MB excess (about $10).

Anyone else still getting this???

Where are you getting about $10 for 57MB excess?
@ 50c per MB this is about $28 - unless you get a valuepack prior to the data usage

I've been charged $131.00 for 739MB - works out to 17.73c per MB. I have no idea how they worked that out but that would have been $10.10 for 57MB at the same rate - although whether or not I actually used that much was questioned by the CSR (and it surprises me that I would have used anything near that much).

This is not the main point though.

I also notice they never automatically charged my credit card at all last month despite that being set up - looks like the autopayment got cancelled instead of amended as I was advised would happen at the time as the (amended) charges have been brought forward to this bill

Thanks

2 Degrees fix has been to put on a $1 spend control and have me reboot the phone :)

So much effort just to use the phone ;)

this is a slap in the face!

The workaround for me is a temporary block on casual data anywhere. I may ask for that to be made permanent, keeps me in charge of my data spend in the unlikely scenario I go over my 1.1GB.

This was their suggested fix for me too. It really annoyed me. I shouldn't need a spend control to prevent charges that are incorrect, and it could prevent me doing stuff I actually want to do.

Good for you. I stay in charge of my data spend by not going over my limit - I would expect not to be over charged for something that is underused :)

2 Degrees should be fixing the "glitch" causing this issue - not having the customer putting in band aid work arounds to prevent this end of month ordeal.

I'd imagine they are fixing it, and having a band aid is better than nothing in the interim

The workaround (or the fix?) is working, this month's bill is back to normal :)

Can I ask whether this is done from 2 Degrees' end or is it from your end?

I called up 2 Degrees quoting this and the CSR mentioned (after asking his supervisor) that this cannot be done from their end. It can only be done from the phone end (ie. in Android, switching off mobile data).

Also, in the case of broadband zone data packs, is this the same as locking data out of zone?

Hi, we do not lock data out at Network level.  If you text 'lock' to 233 you will not be able to use 'out of canopy' (roaming) data. However if you run out of MBB (in canopy) pack data you will be charged casual rate - 50c per MB.

The technician who called me offered to so it so it was done at their end, and seems to be effective for both 2D coverage and national roaming.

To be honest, I like it. It puts me totally in charge of my data spend.

hi aw, yes I agree with you. It is actually a good thing to have this feature.
2DegreesCare or Salty, would you care to comment on this disparity? aw is saying that the changes were made on 2 Degrees' end, but 2 Degrees is saying the exact opposite. I am confused.
