Grover267: if you read above My card receives the signal from the splitter and then 1 cable comes direct from the aerial. I do not use the set up box for my PC. How can I tell what the cables are??

I did read above, I'm trying to make sense of your other statements which simply don't make logical sense.

If you can't identify coaxial cable then you shouldn't be trying to solve this problem, my opinion only.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

We also use DVB-S, but that's not HD like *some* of the channels on DVB-T

We use DVB-T on terrestrial transmissions given that is a terrestrial standard. We use DVB-S on satellite Freeview and DVB-S/S2 on Sky satellite transmissions. And TelstraClear use DVB-C on cable.

+1

I agree, you've been talking about plugging the HD3300 in to the tv/vcr, then saying your not.

It looks like you have been plugging the aerial right in to the DVB-S socket instead of the DVB-T socket, so it's no real surprise it doesn't work.

It's been quite a task getting information about how you have things setup, all this info should have been included in the 1st post.

A quick hand sketch of how you have things set up would have gone a long way, or even attach a picture or 2, or a quick drawing with MS paint or something similar!

Giving accurate information and as much as possible goes a long way to enabling people to help you, to be honest, it's been a bit like pulling teeth getting all the information.

I tried to load a diagram I had made but the upload would no load it so sorry about that. Tried Scanning and still would not upload. So in summary DVB/T plug is the correct one and I need to check my signal from the aerial. Does that sound right?

Yes.
I would suggest you remove the splitter and try connecting the antenna co-ax from the roof direct to the HD3300. If that doesn't increase the signal then you will need a masthead amplifier. Also make sure you have ONLY a UHF antenna with the correct polarity (throw away any VHF antenna) and good quality RG6 co ax to the HD3300. If any of that works then try UHF antenna and RG6 co-ax direct  to the Set Top Box then RG6 coax from STB to HD3300.
If the splitter does have an inbuilt booster then make sure it has power supplied to it or it won't work anyway.
Likewise a masthead amp needs a plugpack power supply to work.

After Nov next year there will be no analogue TV anywhere in NZ (only DVB-T and DVB-S).

I still can't understand how you are seeing the same channel as the TV.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Grover267: Also I must be mistaken with were the signal comes from for the Hamilton Infill. It must be Cambridge then. I had a tuner guy who pointed my UHF aerial pointing Eastward so I assumed Te Aroha, PS I took my VHF aerial from the roof as it was falling to bits is that OK?

Sorry missed the bit about removing the VHF. Yes that was a good idea.

The Hamilton infill signal is Vertical Polarisation and Te Aroha is Horizontal.
