Eddieb - check out LightningBase

They specialise in Wordpress hosting I have a few sites with them. I would normally recommend using EasyEngine on a VPS provider of your choice (I use SiteHost for business.. Vultr for home); but LightningBase do make it easy, and have built in caching, CDN etc. They have servers in Melbourne which may as well be NZ based for performance.

I think Chris is probably happy to assist in migrating the site over too.

I need to do this too at some stage. Keen to learn something new in an non-business critical context.

@timmmay - if you were working up a guide/how-to and wanted a guinea pig, I'm very happy to volunteer.

Are instructions for setting up EasyEngine with Wordpress on AWS here https://easyengine.io/docs/install/aws/ but isn't super in depth

The EasyEngine has the core tasks looking good. My tutorial covers HEAPS more, including:

Setting everything (Nginx, PHP or HHVM, RDS) up from scratch, using yum for some things and building others from source
Setting up AWS, from scratch, with lots of screenshots
Setting up MySQL users and permissions (easy engine may do that)
Setting up Wordpress single and multisite (I gave up on multisite)
Migrating websites and content in
Optimised configurations for Nginx, including setting caching headers that Wordpress themes set incorrectly, favicon stuff (complex in multisite)
Basics like setting server timezone, php timezone, and lots of practical stuff about getting stuff working
Adding Let's Encrypt and HTTP2 using an ACME client that works (Let's Encrypt client doesn't work properly on AWS), including auto renewals
Setting up CloudFlare - not just changing DNS, optimising page rules
Performance testing, including tools used, methodology, and results
How to switch from HHVM to PHP 5.6 (HHVM version I was using was unreliable, and Amazon Linux has poor support for many software packages - this why I may dump it for Ubuntu 16.04 when it's released and I can be bothered)
Plus a whole bunch of other stuff I found on the way

Thanks @timmmay. Looks like an awesome resource. It's taking all my willpower to wait until tomorrow to start this, rather than staying up all night.

Don't follow my current guide exactly as it is, it's far more manual than it needs to be. Suggest you use Ubuntu 14.04 (or 16.04 once it's out in a couple of weeks), EasyEngine, and use my guide for the extra stuff - general setup, offsite backups to dropbox, nginx rules, etc.
