Probably the same, I am also sure its comes down to where they were made to as I have heard of people buying cards at fantastic prices only to have them die after a short time.
Biggest issues I find with cameras and SD cards is file system corruption. People who leave photos on the card and delete ones they dont want in camera seem to be the worst effected by it. Clear the card, format in camera so you start with a new empty file system and problems stop happening to the same degree.
Phones seem to be able to check and repair file systems fine. I try not to put apps on the cards because the icons take a while to appear when you start the phone up, but other than that no major issues other than when one was a bit loose once and would disconnect and reconnect occasionally as the phone flexed.
Another good reason why Google moved away from SD cards entirely and in stock android removed a lot of abilities to get direct write to SD cards, replacing it with particular APIs for access.
Many manufacturers followed suit, i believe sony does not allow moving apps to SD card even if theres one available last i checked. Blame whoever your manufacturer is for putting such a feature in to install to programs onto removable media - it's like installing a windows program to an external hard drive. Sure you can do it, but its just really ugly, performance can be affected unless its high end, so all around a terrible user experience for the average user who often doesn't know the difference.
