More 'copy & paste' excellence from the NZ Herald.  Couldn't even be bothered to check to see if it actually had been launched.  Surprised much?

Two days ago I received an email from Buzz:

"Hi Chris

To thank you for all your help of the past year, here's a chance to be one of the first 1000 SKY customers to try out iSKY.

iSKY is SKY's new online TV service that lets you watch your favourite SKY shows on your computer whenever and wherever you want.

If you'd like to take part please click here

The iSKY Team"

Accordingly I clicked the link and was asked a few questions and upon finishing was linked through to a beta site of theirs, with a login and password.

And yes, there are 5 live channels, SKYNews, CNN and Sports 1,2 and 3 plus a large number of both FTV catchup's, movies and also some prog's you can rent.

Once I have logged in using my SkyID I then endeavor to watch live but just can't seem to get it working.

There is no help facility on the page to suggest what pc based requirements are needed for viewing, although I do know FLASH10 is the backbone of their system. I'll contact them tomorrow for some guidance and will report back as to it's functionality, if I can ever get it going.

i got that email and am watching the a league now on sky sports 2 and i have to say its very good quality slightly better than espn on full screen 22" screen, and im watching the same feed on the tv and its identical , the commentary is word perfect between the 2 so no delay  so far impressed but with the picture quality this good it would eat through your data limit in no time so you will need to be with one of the unmetered and uncapped  isp, so no Telecom will be a big problem.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

an update, just looked at the movies and it seems that if the movie is scheduled to screen in December its free to watch anytime, even though its upcoming on the movie channel, ie you can watch it first online before it screens on sky tv. eg, Planet 51 and UP is available free to watch right now.  and it buffered for about 10 seconds and then it was away.
