yes i too bought one of these returned it within 14 days. took him 3 weeks to collect from post office. wont reply to any e mails or return ph calls

waiting to see when his court date is with sky then will confront him

How did he even manage to sell something that is front of the court? Ah - the New Zealand operation may be closed down but continue somewhere else.

Hahahahaha Stuff will publish anything. There's absolutely no way that a company that sold (almost certainly) no more than a a couple of thousand boxes they'd brought in from Aliexpress then managed to sell for $12.5mil, especially with the Sky lawsuit against them. The Chinese may have lots of money, but they're definitely not stupid...

“Reddy said last month the company had sold 20,000 Android media players to consumers in 12 countries” so 12.5 million /20,000=$625 per box? But the quoted price is $259 🤔

Also you'd think for a company that sold for $12.5mil they'd at least ensure they filed their annual return so they didn't get struck off before the sale went through...

The Stuff item is just a rehash of MYbox's Press release.

If they actually spent 2 minutes and went to the NZ Companys register they would see this

"This company is now overdue in its obligation to file an annual return. If the annual return is not filed immediately the Registrar will initiate action to remove the company from the register.:"

In other words they are shutting up shop so Sky can't get their "winnings" from the courtcase action.

And in light of this it's Stuff who also hyped up the Terrible company over the course of a few years without any verification or fact checking. By doing this they're actually contributing to the scam because PR in a newspaper helps verify their story as they go about scamming other people.

Stuff are doing exactly the same with this. Other than a press release there is absolutely no proof at all this company was sold for the money they're claiming, and it would seem a case of the company shutting down to try and limit the liability of the director.

We know we're in an era of lazy journalists simply relying on rehashed press releases. It's hardly surprising therefore that there is so much fake news out there.

It would not have sold, would have just been made up to try and side step any judgement that is not out yet.

All he is doing is closing the company down and then will say "oh it sold before the judgement was out so I no longer have anything to do with it"

He walks away laughing with the 3,000,000 profit from selling 20,000 boxes (selling the boxes at 150 profit).

I am not sure if he did sell 20,000 of them but just going off the numbers he has said with a cost price of $50 a box selling at an average of $200
