Not necessarily... but are you aware that the tuners have to send power to the satellite dish in order for the channels to work?
If only one of the outputs of the splitter passes power from tuner to dish (which is possible), then the tuner connected to that output must be powered on and active in order for the other tuners to receive signal. Further, there are two voltage levels that a tuner can send to the dish. Lets call them high and low for simplicity. For Sky channels to work, the tuner needs to send high voltage to the dish. Low voltage won't work. Vertical polarisation = low voltage; horizontal polarisation = high voltage.
