Check the cables. Running composite into component etc might cause that.

What do you mean composite. The fittings are all suited for videos and the audio.

Composite refers to a signal composing of luminance and chrominance (the colour info) components delivered over a yellow colour coded connector typically.

For us to help you you need to tell  us specifically how your set top box connects to the TV, i.e., what outputs on the STB connect to what inputs on the TV. Your problem is typical of composite being connected to the component luminance input (green colour coded connector (component also uses a red and blue connector for the two colour components) on TV and the TV being set to component input.

OR the right audio (red) plugged into component Pr (red) maybe.

"IT'S FIXED"!    I would like to thanks those that have helped me fumble through my forum requests,  one of the prompts to check the "composition" lead me to checking the RC leads again, note to myself I must ensure to do my checks with plenty of light on the subject and check the colours of the inputs outputs rather than the just lead colours, (what a dumb mistake) yellow outlet with blue lead into yellow input not blue input.
Still need to learn the upload off photos, which are somewhere........never mind now.
I'm still not sure why the picture and audio stuttered but it's FIXED now, many thanks again to GEEKZONE and members.

Grrrrrr! I talked to soon this TV is trying to tell me something, yesterday it turned off........by it's self.  then it turned back on ....... by it's self, and I watched it as you do until bedtime.

This morning I turned it on and watched it........25 minutes later it turned off.......and twenty minutes late it turned back on, two minutes later it turned off, I wont bore you with the recounting of this (Grrr&*$#!) TV.

To me it appears this TV is operating and a build of heat SOMEWHERE is determining shut down, the shut down period will last two minutes approximately and it will restart run for ten to fifteen minutes before giving up this will carry on with shorter time of on until NO more on, leave it for an hour and manually restart it and starts all over again.

I removed the back cover and found nothing that stood out, checked the fuse to ensure the there was a good connection  but there is nothing else for me to check because I don't know what I'm doing. I tried putting a tower fan behind to help prove the heat build up theory, didn't make any difference .....like I said earlier I don't know what I'm doing.
