MikeB4: The self monitoring fee seems high considering I currently pay $35 for professional monitoring now.

You are paying for 3G connectivity, plus platform hosting costs, plus storage of videos and photos, plus profit margin.

I did not realise that the photo's and videos were stored on Sparks servers, that does make a difference.

Who is Telecom?

The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer Chorus NZ Ltd

That was the case at launch, but now the exclusivity has been removed, so you can sign up for Morepork with any ISP (including Bigpipe)
(you still need to have spark mobile coverage, but do not need to be a spark customer)

I had to enter in a spark account number and phone number during sign up, FYI.

Decided to sign up, looking forward to having a tinker with it.

Received mine on Friday, quite a nice package that it all comes in.

It hasn't been without its problems though, seems like my account hasn't been provisioned properly which is a pain.

My account wasn't configured with Morepork's default notifications, not a huge issue as they're configurable anyway but not sure what defaults they use.

Neither the image sensor nor cameras I got have been added to my account so I've only got as far as setting up the window/door sensors as I'm unable to use them until they're added.

In saying that I'm impressed with the online chat, I didn't expect anyone to be online at 10PM however spoke someone who attempted to add the image sensor to my account to no avail, so he'll have to escalate to the provisioning team tomorrow morning. Even though he wasn't able to solve my issue he was professional and courteous so well done Morepork.
