If you want however i'll skim the linetests that have been done and see if anything sticks out that you can look into.. PM me the line number and i'll pull them up :)

Can't promise to follow this up directly with you in an official capacity as i am busy with projects right now, however if i have some free time happy to follow it up.

A lot of movement on your line, the 12 hour linetest on your line i see no drops.

You currently have the Vigor130 plugged in there?

a very minor fault is there that could possibly be looked at, however it is actually looking more like PPP drops than DSL.

I've started a test to confirm all of this so that when i'm in on monday i can pull up both ends of it and analyse more directly.

Also interesting to see the sync differance between the DV130? and the HG630b there.

Thank you again for looking into this for me @hio77

Once I realized the isolation test with the Spark modem had no affect I switched back to my Vigor 130 (I figured this was probably the better modem) + Netgear Nighthawk setup

Here is the VDSL information with my Vigor 130:

I will keep an eye out on any disconnections that occur today/tomorrow and post timestamps here

The disconnections seem very random - sometimes I can go for ~23 hours without a disconnection and sometimes its as frequent as every ~1 hour. However for the past 1-2 months I haven't had my VDSL line up for more than 24 hours thats for certain

Do you have a monitored alarm or monitored medical devices via PSTN in the house? Wihout a master splitter, those monitored devices through PSTN are known to cause drop out with DSL. ADSL is more tolerant towards noise than VDSL as VDSL uses a a much wider range of frequency.

Looking at this from much the same angle.

I'm working on a few usecases around these and detecting such situations, very telling signs in the linetests when you know what your looking at!

Last LQD was only a 12 hour with no drops, interesting noise on US1 but otherwise looks pretty clean so hoping for some interesting responses from a further look

I can say for sure we have no alarms or medical devices in the house. All I have connected to the phone line is my modem, 2 phones and 1 fax.

And yeah that is the weird thing - everything was great for the first ~6 weeks or so, even during the 1 week 'stabilization' period in which Spark advised me my internet connection may be slow/unreliable - everything worked awesome and I couldn't had been happier. It was only the last 6 weeks or so where the issues started occurring.

I'm currently at 21 hours of uptime with my Vigor 130, I'll be monitoring it closely to see how much longer it can go for!

As other have said, installing a master splitter will definitely help but whether that is the root cause of the random drop out or not is hard to say. Hopefully you are able to isolate the root causes.

VDSL by its nature is very susceptible to noice. It could also be possible that as more and more people are getting on to VDSL in your neighbourhood, the combined noise generated at the cabinet level is degrading performance for everyone. There is a VDSL noise cancelling technology (known as vectoring) which has been used overseas quite successfully. Unforutnately, it is not really compatible with local loop unbundling that the NZ broadband industry has. Also, with the big push to fibre, no one is really that interested in investing in copper based technology any more.
