Sounds like @OmniouS and @SirHumphreyAppleby may have uncovered a pfSense bug. We only require IA_PD, not IA_NA on PPP connections.

If it works though, that's great!

OmniouS:

This is what I needed to configure in pfSense:

Interfaces > WAN

DHCP6 Client Configuration

Request only an IPv6 prefix: (unticked)

This seems to have done the trick for me. Should've given in to my inner geek and not followed the instructions.

My IPv6 is now up and running - the default settings on the Asus RT series routers work (I THINK, I can't remember what if anything I changed when I had it running 2Degrees).

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Meanwhile, I seem to have completely lost IPv6 on the interface. I suspect something odd is going on with pfSense. A clean configuration may help me get to the bottom of it.

F Yeah! Now I can cancel my My Republic move!

Thanks guys for not making me switch. I was getting worried for a second :)

Edit: In-case you didn't figure it out from the "happy kitten" post I've had IPv6 from BigPipe for quite some time. I'm quite happy to post the Edgerouter configuration I use when I get home (@mentalinc) which includes some firewall rules for extra security.

If it helps at all, it took me quite some time to get this right on vf as well.. seems to overall just be something to be aware of with pfsense.

Silly question -- will this apply to Skinny wired connections as well when it goes live for all Bigpipe customers?

We're closing up for tonight, so I won't be able to process any more requests until tomorrow. All looking good on our end so far for those that have had the switch flicked. Thanks everyone for helping test!

Ah yes I have essentially the same configuration as you then. I'll post my configuration and how I have configured my PiHole later on tonight (I work night shift at the moment so posting this from work).

Guys please bare in mind if you're doing this from a more advanced router (Edgerouter, Mikrotik, PFSense etc) that by default you're literally passing through a public IPv6 address to your devices in your network. Ensure you've got basic firewall rules on your router (Drop all except related on inbound) for your IPv6.

You don't have to but it is well recommend for basic security.
