No, this is separate issue which is currently under investigation.

Update 10:10 4/7/17: This should now be sorted. Anyone noticing trouble loading specific websites should either submit a ticket via https://www.bigpipe.co.nz/contact-us or reply to the email from their existing ticket so that it can be followed up. :)

IPv6pipe:

Some of you may have noticed that if your connection drops for whatever reason (router reboot, weather event, DLM, etc), when you reconnect you may no longer obtain v6 from us, or that even after you've had it enabled you can't get it working.

We've identified the source - it looks as though a gremlin has moved in to one of our core routers in the process of software upgrades. The network team are investigating to find and banish the gremlin at the moment, but we don't yet have an ETA at this stage.

I'll update the thread when the gremlin has been evicted. Sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

Has this been resolved, or investigation and resolution is still underway?

I'll update the thread when the gremlin has been evicted. It is still being worked on - there is a case open with our core equipment vendor at the moment.

The gremlin has only taken up residence in one of our core routers. If you keep renegotiating your PPP session and end up on one that's gremlin free (we load balance connections between our BNGs), you'll find v6 works as normal. :)

Is this issue still occurring? It would explain the problem I'm having right now...

Man this is one persistent gremlin.

Is it the same gremlin that caused this note?

9. Note: After IPv6 has been enabled on your line you may need to restart your router a few times, as our routers may need to collect some extra data from your line that only becomes available during a connection attempt. The prefix that will be assigned to each line is a sticky /60

No, that's related to the initial authentication - by default none of our lines have IPv6 enabled, so v6 related information is not stored.

After having v6 enabled, on authentication our routers will collect some new data from your line. As it's only collected during authentication you may find you need to authenticate a few times before everything is all synced up.

An update on Gremlin watch: It has now been evicted. If you're still having trouble with v6 after rebooting your router, do let us know by posting in this thread. :)

I had a report of a lack of IPv6 connectivity at about 3 o'clock this morning. Is this what that was about?

Edit: Congrats on fixing the problem!

Has the vendor been consulted regarding incompatibility with some systems, specifically pfSense?

My router has developed a hardware fault so it's no longer available for testing. I'm now running pfSense in a virtual machine.

Don't have any news on pfSense sorry. We're still following up with our hardware vendor to help ensure future releases do not reintroduce the same troubles.

Noticed my internet went offline a few times overnight by the monitoring emails. Glad it is fixed @IPv6pipe - no-longer need to reboot my router 5 times to get V6 again. Love your work.
