You might need to check what software version you are running on the phone. Go to Settings>General>About. What does Version say? Latest version at the moment is 2.2.1 and 3.0 is coming soon.

I have real issues with my switchover. My old phone went out, but new one failed to come up, and I got the "network restricted" issue that Zalman reported.

I was on GoOneBill. So the plan was to switch that to CDMA prepay, then upgrade to XT. There was a Fail along the way, and 24 hours later I went in, and my number wasn't attached to anything. Also lost all texts etc. from that period. Working all good now. Much more like setting up a new computer than a phone. Talk about a palaver! But great once you're there.

Also finding battery life a bit iffy, although currently using lots of WiFi

It will work maybe it was not showing becasue you were not connected to any network?
